Why 64 bit processor is better?

HTC launched its latest product HTC Desire 510 several weeks before. It is the first unit adopting Qualcomm 64 bit Snapdragon 410 processor. As it is available, people starts to be interested in the 64 bit Snapdragon 615 and 410 quad core processor. So what is the difference with 32 bit processor on earth?

Till now, there are over 1 billion smart phone android coming with Qualcomm processor. As 4G LTE network is popular in worldwide, Qualcomm launched its 4th generation processor. It has included Snapdragon 400 to Snapdragon 200 series. Except 4G LTE network, it can also support 2G and 3G networks.

Most users don’t know the difference between 64 bit and 32 bit processors. The newly launched Snapdragon 615 can support 64 bit. It is used to match the 64 bit Android L operation system when new OS is popular.

In fact, 64 bit processor has big improvement on accumulator and storage, and upgraded based on ARMv8. ARMv8 has refined the CPU performance, and video processing speed. Its performance is about two times of ARMv7. ARMv8 can support 64 bit technology, and also compatible with 32 bit ARM software.

Totally speaking, ARMv8 has enhanced the performance of 64 bit processor.

Now, in market, there are some smart phones coming with 64 bit Snapdragon 410 or 615 processor, including HTC Desire 510, Desire 820, Lenovo VIBE Z2, Vivo Y27 etc. Though, they are coming with 64 bit processor, but their performance is not enhanced too much since they do not come with 4G RAM.

But as we can see, in future, there will be more and more smart phones with 64 bit processor.

New smart watch from LG

Today, there is one new product from LG on ontablets.es. The model number is VC100. It is one smart watch which can support 3G network. It may be a new product of LG G Watch series or a new series. From the picture, we can see its size is a bit smaller than Samsung Gear S.

As the latest news from Tabletofgps, Verizon will become the first supplier of this LG VC100 smart watch. That means this VC100 can support Verizon 3G network. We know LG has launched several smart watches, but different with others, this VC100 does not need to pair with your smart phone to make call or answer calls. As estimation, this new product will be available for sale at the end of this year or early of next year at soonest.

Not long before, Samsung has already launched the Gear S smart watch which can support 3G network. Now, LG owns one similar product. In future, this LG VC100 will be the competitor of Samsung.

New Android devices will be installed 20 apps from Google

Compared with iOS, Android is free of charge. that is why Android OS is popular nowadays. But recently, Google put more pressures on the Android devices suppliers. Earlier of this year, Google expected to reduce system fragmentation. So it needs the device suppliers to install the latest Android operation system if they want to use Gmail, Youtube and other service.

As news from ontablets.es, Google is planning to force suppliers to install more Google apps on their Android devices.

As the new contract, some big suppliers like Samsung, LG, Huawei, HTC etc will have to pre install over 20 apps from Google on their latest Android devices.

Most the apps will be stored in the Google folder. If you want to remove the apps to save memory space, sorry, it is not allowed.

Firthermore, when you install the Google apps, then you can not install other search engines, like Yahoo, or Bing.

Except, that is what iOS does. There are a lot of apps, like weather, stock etc. Users can not remove it, and more important, they are the default app, users can not default third party apps.

Colorfly G808 3G tablet pc

From the end of last year till now, 3G tablet is quite welcome in market. Most of them are adopting the Mediatek solution. Just in the first half of this year, the sales of tablets with Mediatek solution is over 20 million pieces. About one month ago, Colorfly has already launched one 3G tablet. Today, there is another new 3G tablet from Colorfly available for sale.

This is the Colorfly G808 3G. As our news, this unit is one octa core unit. Though, Colorfly did not tell which solution is adopted, but considering it is one octa core unit and comes with 3G, so it must be Mediatek solution. Users can load SIM card ot surf internet and make calls on screen. This unit adopts one 8 inch IPS screen, screen resolution is 1280*800 pixels.

Pinig Tabs, one tablet from India for niche market

Nowadays, tablet suppliers care about niche market than before. For example, Amazon has launched two tablets for kids last week. Today, one tablet supplier from India launched a tablet named Pinig Tabs. This unit is targeting to women, kids, old men etc. Its price is only starting from 82 US dollars.

In fact, Pinig Tabs has several different model, including, Executive Tab, Kids Tab, Woman Tab, Gaming Tab, and Senior Tab. Different model is for different niche market. The most expensive is only 210 US dollars.

Kids Tab is for youth from 1 years old to 10 years old. Senior Tab is for people aged above 70.

Pinig Tabs has been installed some picked apps. These apps are mostly related to tourism, e-book, health or culture.

Unit has included rich accessories, including leather case, earphone, and 3G dongle. Of course, the accessories is optional, not included in the price.

PIPO W4, 8 in tablet Win8 in low price

During the past year, Intel took some actions to cooperate with local tablet manufacturers in China. Recently, there are more and more tablets Android or Windows coming with Intel processor. In meanwhile, the price is also much lower than before. Several days before, one 8 inch Cube tablet Windows 8 is only 85 euros. Today, there is one new tablet Windows from PIPO shown on ontablets.es. Its price is amazing 65 euros.

This PIPO W4 owns one 8 inch IPS screen. Resolution is 1280*800 pixels. CPU is the Intel Bay Trail-T Z3735F quad core processor. That is one adopting 22nm process technology. We have talked about this processor in old post. As the price is low. So unit only comes with 1GB RAM and 16GB flash memory. The front camera is 0.3M pixels and rear camera is 2M pixels. The battery capacity is 4500Mah.

As our news, this W4 may have other editions with bigger flash memory, but the price is unknown for now.

As its configuration is not very good, so it just can handle some daily demand. It can not run some big apps or online games.

Detail of Apple A8 processor

As the iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus are launched, now, the detail information of their processor, Apple A8 is also available now.

As news from Ontablets, this Apple A8 processor adopts the TSMC 20nm process technology. As we have said before, this 20nm process technology will offer a faster running speed than old 28nm process technology. More important, the size and power consumption of this processor is lower than before.

As our testing result, this Apple A8 processor is also one dual core CPU, but the frequency is enhanced to 1.4GHz. News from Apple said, the performance of this A8 processor is enhanced by 25% than the old A7 which is adopted by iPhone5S. The GPU performance is also enhanced by 50%. If compared with the first generation iPhone, the CPU performance is enhanced by 8400%.

This A8 processor adopts the Imagination PowerVR Series6XT GX6650 GPU, that is one 6 core GPU. This GX6650 is the only one GPU which can meet the A8 demand from Imagination. This GPU can support the ATSTC technology.

HP Tablet 8 G2 land Europe

In the IFA 2014 trade show, we have already seen this HP Tablet 8 G2 available in the show. Today, HP officially announced that this unit is available for sale in Europe. Its price is 180 euros.

This HP Tablet 8 G2 adopts one CPU from Allwinner. We know few HP tablets adopt Allwinner processor. This unit owns one 7.85 inch IPS screen, resolution is 1024*768 pixels. The CPU is one Allwinner quad core chipset. Unit owns 1GB RAM and 16GB flash memory. The front camera is 0.3M pixels, and rear camera is 2M pixels. The battery capacity is 15WH, it runs Android 4.4 operation system.

Now, this unit is already available for sale in France. But from the above information, its price is still quite expensive.  Screen resolution is not high, CPU performance is not powerful. I really don’t think it will be welcome in France and other European countries.

Chuwi X tablet with Intel 64 bit processor

Recently, on the blog of Ontablets, there is one new Chuwi tablet. It looks quite cool. In the blog, it did not tell the detail specification of this new tablet from Chuwi. Even the model number is unknown for now.

As the news, this secret tablet will be launched next week. Recently, Chuwi has launched several new tablet with Intel processor, so we believe this new item will also come with one Intel processor. But the exact model number is not known. As what Chuwi said, this new tablet will adopt one 64 bit second generation Intel processor, so it must be the Intel Z3735 series.

Regarding the screen size, Chuwi said, it will be a big screen size, and bigger than 8 inch. Now, in market, tablets with Windows OS usually owns 8 inch, 8.9 inch or 10.1 inch screen. So this new tablet should be 8.9 inch or 10.1 inch. From the picture, it looks like a 8.9 inch screen. It will be a screen from Samsung. The benefit of Samsung screen is the rich color. The screen resolution is unknown for now.

It looks that Chuwi are quite confident of this new tablet, so its performance should be not bad.

From the picture, this unit runs the Windows 8.1 OS. It may also come with 3G built in. So users can surf internet anywhere and check email easily.

iFive MX2 tablet with Windows OS

From earlier of this year, many tablet suppliers in China have launched their own tablet Windows, for example Yundao, Ramos and Teclast. Recently, iFive will also launch a tablet with Windows OS.

As our news, this iFive tablet Windows is coming with one 8 inch IPS screen. It is also the first tablet with Windows 8 OS from iFive.

The model number of this unit is iFive MX2. It is the new edition of iFive MX. Except the looks is quite similar as the old edition, the configuration and operation system is much different. The screen size is 8 inch, and resolution is 1920*1200 pixels. iFive did not tell what is the processor inside. But it should be Intel Bay Trail-T Z3735F or Z3735G. The RAM is 2GB DDR3L and 32GB flash memory. There are dual camera built in. But the camera resolution is unknown for now.

This iFive MX2 will be available for sale in next month. iFive did not tell its price. But usually it will be about 15 to 20 euros higher than similar tablets in market.
