Apple OS X will support multi touch

From the end of last year, there are more and more tablet with Windows OS in market. And many of them are coming with keyboard. When connected with keyboard, the tablet is nearly the same as laptop PC.

Last month, news from Ontablets said, Apple will launch a 12.9 inch tablet, named iPad Pro. It may run OS X operation system. Recently, Apple applied for a new patent. The OS X will support multi touch function. That means Apple may launch a 2 in 1 tablet. But Apple did not tell when this new patent will be adopted.

In fact, several month ago, we have already heard the news that OS X will support multi touch function. The unit will be iPad Pro with 12.9 inch screen. It will run OS X operation system. It can be transformed to a MacBook. As estimation, the iPad Pro will be available for sale within next year. But Apple did not respond the news.

Cheapest tablet with Windows 8 OS

As the saturation of tablet demand, now, more and more tablet suppliers start to aim entry level tablets. But most of them would like to choose Android OS. So Microsoft cancel the authority charge to Windows OS for tablets less than 9 inch.

In the HK trade show of Oct, Eton launched a 7 inch tablet with Windows 8.1 OS, its price is only 70 US dollars, it was the cheapest tablet Windows. But recently, Suverimax launched a new tablet PC with Windows OS, named Winbook. Its price is only 60 US dollars.

This Winbook adopts the Intel Atom Z3735G quad core processor, frequency is 1.33GHz. Its screen size is 7 inch, and resolution is 1280*800 pixels. RAM is 1GB, flash memory is 16GB. Users can extend memory space by a TF card. There are USB2.0, HDMI, Micro USB host on the body of unit.

Onda V919 3G Air tablet is launched

About one month ago, we have made a special report for the Onda V919 3G Air tablet. Today, Onda announced this unit was launched, and will be available for sale in following days.

Onda V919 3G Air adopt the metal body. Whole unit looks very slim and compact. Its screen size is 9.7 inch, screen resolution is 2048*1536 pixels. CPU is the MT8392 octa core processor from Mediatek. RAM is 2GB and flash memory is 32GB. Its front camera is 2M pixels, and rear camera is 5M pixels. Except the GPS, Wifi, bluetooth, this unit can support 3G WCDMA and GSM network.

Totally speaking, this unit has a very good performance. Onda did not tell its price. But take similar tablets in market for reference, its price should be around 150 euros.

7 inch NEC tablet disclosed

Recently, one 7 inch tablet pc displayed on ontablets.es. This NEC tablet has already certified by FCC, that means it will be launched very soon.From the information, this unit owns one 7 inch screen. Maybe we can say it is a phablet.

This phablet is from NEC, but model number is unknown. Screen resolution may be 720P or 1080P. There are dual SIM card slim, support both WCDMA and GSM network. The other information is unknown for now.

As our information, this NEC tablet is similar as Huawei X1 etc, but the performance will not as good as X1. Its price should be around 100 euros.

More classic tablets from Nokia

This week, Nokia launched its first tablet PC with Android OS. That is a new start of Nokia. Nokia mobile phone was well known couples of years ago, but in fact, about 13 years ago, Nokia has already developed its first tablet, M510. It is even 9 years before iPad. We can say Nokia M510 is the start, but we believe, Nokia N1 will not be the end. Today, let’s share some old tablets from Nokia.

Nokia M510 was launched in 2001, and Nokia produced thousands of this unit, but at last, this projection was cancelled. The reason is Nokia believe most people can not accept this product. Teclast P98 owns one 9.7 inch IPS screen, resolution is 2048*1536 pixels. The unit is very slim, only 9.5mm thickness. Unit comes with one MT8752T octa core processor, which is a 64 bit chipset from Mediatek. GPU is Mali-T760 GPU. The RAM is 2GB LPDDR3, and flash memory is 32GB. It can support 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi, TDD-LTE and FDD-LTE 4G network. There is one 13M pixels rear camera built in.

Marvell launched two new 64 bit processors

Nowadays, 64 bit processor is the future. So, from beginning of this year, there are more and more tablets with 64 bit processors available in market. Today, Marvell, one well known chipset supplier, launched its 64 bits processors: PXA1936 and PXA1908.

Marvell PXA1936 is one 64 bits octa core processor. It contains eight Cortex A53. Frequency is 1.53GHz. It can support 1080P display or videos, and 16M pixels camera at max.

Marvell PXA1908 is one 64 bits quad core processor. It contains four Cortex A53. Frequency is 1.2GHz. Compared with PXA1936, it can only support 720P display, videos, and 13M pixels cameras.

Both processors can support FDD-LTE, TDD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, and GSM network. Regarding the operation system, they can support the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operation system.

Now, both processor are available now. As estimation, in early of 2015, we can see some tablets with the two processor in market.

Don’t upgrade your Nexus 9 now

Nexus 9 is the first tablet pc with Android 5.0 OS. In market, it is also very welcome, and popular. As Google’s flagship product, it is also always the first one for operation system update. But recently, there is problems for OTA update.

As we know, when we upgrade our operation system, usually, we use OTA online, OTA add-on, or image package. But recently, when Nexus 9 is upgraded to LRX21Q OS edition, there is some problem happened. Google has also confirmed the bugs. And it promises to resolve the bug in short time.

New iPad Pro will be delayed

As news from Tabletofgps, new iPad Pro will be delayed to 2nd quarter of 2014. About last month, Ontablets, this iPad Pro will be launched in 1st quarter of 2014. The reason for the delay is the production delay.
